These Scholarships (which also incorporate the Dr Howell Rees General Scholarship) are provided from the income of a bequest made to the University of Wales by the late Howell Rees CBE MRCS LRCP (1847-1933) of Cardiff.

 

Eligibility

  • Welsh-speaking Candidate
  • A native of South Wales (including Monmouthshire)
  • Preparing for the degrees of MB BCh at the Cardiff University School of Medicine during the three years immediately following the completion of the first two years of the five-year programme
  • Awarded on the result of the University examinations held in years 1 and 2 in the subject areas related to anatomical and physiological studies

 

 Additional Information

  • Value of approximately £1000, subject to available funds
  • The tenure of the scholarship from year to year shall be conditional on receipt of a satisfactory report from the institution, and proportionate and subject to available funds
